Food and articles

English nouns are either countable or uncountable but be careful because some nouns become adjectives.
should you put an "s" on that word?

Board work

Pretty easy class but the book refuses to put grammar in.
students here were supposed to tell stories and there were lots of irregular past tense verbs.  I wonder if texting in English would help?

conversation

I teach a lot of conversation classes and since I'm currently teaching a writing class and our topic is "how to" I'd like to share this essay.

Student paragraphs

Box it
I had them interview another student and write a paragraph about the person.
this was some student writing on a partner.  Supposed to be a paragraph.

Marking

I read a bunch of outlines on the bus then read again the next day and commented then arranged by best and then by related topic.  I will hand back and have students put into new groups to compare and talk about.
They wrote "how to" something and it was based on an essay on first impressions.  I grouped the essays by topic and will put the writers together next class and have them critique each others work after I tell them they were supposed to only outline the body and some major problems were not matching the headings to the how to and also other trouble.
I read, then corrected some grammar, spelling, or organisational problems.  I separated into 3 piles.  A for the best ones, B for the middle pile and C for these essays that have issues.

Easy peasy
Free time activities.  just some phrases to hear and identify and then repeat and finally use in conversation.
just trying to get the class to differentiate between one and many and also round of the "t" sound.

5 paragraph

Essay expansion
getting into the book.  Plan on reading about "How to" first impression and then break down a different "how to" topic into 3 parts.
I explained about 5 paragraph format a little and show the examples of Benny's theft protection, electric guitar and  overcoming writer's block.
3 common problems with the paragraphs: too many lists, using Korean, and writing spoken formant instead of writing format.

This fellow needs to start sentences on the same line he finishes on.  Also very boring info.
my composition class is going to write on "how to" so here are some ideas:
